Frameless Steam Showers

Steam showers have glass spanning from the base to ceiling allowing the majority of the steam to be trapped inside. On openings taller than 84”, a transom is required above the door. This can be a fixed or operable piece of glass to allow for steam ventilation. Steam showers do require some air infiltration allowing for steam to form. Because of this, these showers should not be airtight. 

Considering how much glass is used for steam showers, having minimal hardware gives you a great opportunity to showcase beautiful tile work and trendy bath fixtures.

In many cases, our clients take this opportunity to use Starphire glass. Containing very little iron, this specialty glass is extremely clear giving the illusion that even though the glass spans floor to ceiling, you can hardly tell it’s there.
